I just finished this book whilst in Mumbai too, and really enjoyed it. Gives you quite a lot to think about as you cruise the backstreets of the city. It also provides some interesting material to discuss with Indians, as they all seem very open about politics.

Of course one needs tread carefully, but I felt the book gave me a background to all the best conversations I had in India.
